Welcome to the Dallas AI Club!
(If this is your first Dallas AI Club … you have to AI!)
We started the club to gather conscious AI creators to thoughtfully gather and discuss the future of AI — but with a slightly different frame than the usual tech meetup.
We gather where artificial intelligence meets ancient intelligence.
Each week, we gather in Dallas to discuss the rapidly evolving world of AI, to understand its impact, and to explore what we can do as conscious creators of our lives — and therefore our world. We also pause at the top of each hour to collectively share a memento mori, our 1-minute meditation practice that anchors all that we do in an awareness that we will one day die.
This blog is where we’ll share what we’re learning. Mostly, we expect to post:
- Recaps of what we discussed at recent gatherings
- Notes from the practice — reflections on the memento mori tradition we hold at the top of each hour
- Resources — videos, papers, tools, frameworks worth knowing
We might also post member spotlights — what people in the room are building — but our goal is not self-promotion as much as shaping the collective imagining of what is possible. We believe that it is essential for us to work towards a world in which AI is not merely a tool for optimization and profiteering, but liberating humanity from the challenges at the base of Maslow’s “hierarchy of needs” so that we can each move closer to its apex.
If you’re not yet in the room and want to be, you can request an invitation.
