Our 1-Minute Meditation
A moment, held in common.
At the top of each hour during the gathering, we pause for one minute. The room goes quiet, and we sit together with a single question:
Knowing we will die,
how do we want to live the next hour?
This is a memento mori practice: an old discipline of remembering our mortality, repurposed for a room of people working with the most accelerating tools in human history. AI keeps speeding up. The pause does the opposite. It returns us to the timescale of a human life and asks whether what we're doing right now actually deserves our most precious resource — our attention.
Sixty seconds. Then we resume — usually with a clearer sense of why we're here.
